Film title help needed.

There's this zombie movie I saw years and years ago,
not that I wanna see it again, that's how bad it was:moon:
but it's bugging me to know the title of it.

This is all I can remember.
It was probably made in the 80's.
Made before 1991, cause that's when I rented it.
The plot, from what I remember,
these prisoners are doing road work of some sort,
when one of them finds this pipe, with this hose in it,
the prisoners then begin to suck on the pipe, that releases
some sort of green gas. They get high from it, but eventually
they die and turn into zombies. The rest of the film is a complete
blank. If any of you know the title of this film, I'd appreciate it.
It's driving me crazy, trying to remember the name of it.

I tend to feel i'm the foremost authority on all things scary.. but this one leaves me scratching my head... are you suuuuuuuuure it was prisoners? Because it sounds like ROTLD2 where the kids are snuffing up some zombie gas by accident in a sewer...

Were they white prisoners? Was it an American movie? Help us out here! I need more to go on...

I think it was a Canadian film, very B type of film.
It wasn't ROTLD2, no kids in it. I'm pretty sure it's
prisoners, they were all dressed in prison uniforms and
sucking this chemical stuff out of a garden hose,.

Zombie Death House
A psycho doctor uses prisoners serving life sentences as guinea pigs to test the effects of a dangerous virus he invented. As soon as they're exposed, the inmates turn into crazed killers and then become the walking dead, continuously emitting highly contagious fluids from their decaying bodies. Before long, the entire prison wing is contaminated, and the healthy inmates begin to riot. Can anyone stop these deadly zombies before it's too late?

It's easy to see why I confused the two.
They're both chessy films and I've seen them both.
But Garden of the dead is the one I was thinking of and
Max nailed it.
Now I have an urge to watch "Night of the creeps" lol

Night of the Creeps is awesome but its a funny zombie movie... sooo cheesetastic I think it stars the guy who played Rusty in Natl Lampoons European Vacation

It is good, in a B movie type of way.
It's not on DVD yet, so I'll have to wait lol

Yeah Garden of the dead was set in a prison.
That's why I remember the prisoners sniffing that chemical
so much. It is total B movie quality, and not that good at all.
At the time I was going through an all I can see zombie feast,
and rented anything that had zombies in it.

Garden of the Dead! That's supposed to be the very first flick to feature running zombies. Can anyone confirm this? Cause I HAVE to get ahold of this film if that's so!!

I don't know if it is the first flick to feature running zombie, but they do have them running and talking as well.
It was made in 1974, before Dawn came out and the zombie phase hit
us all, but I am pretty certain it is the first to feature the zombies running

I think Night of the living dead featured the first running "Zombie" The first zombie you see :p

I actually have both Garden of the Dead & Night of the Creeps on VHS, so if someone REALLY had to see one of them, I could dub a copy, oops is that illegal? Anyways, I really couldn't tell you if Garden of the Dead had running zombies because I only watched it once years ago when I first picked it up, & I'm not even sure if I watched it all the way through cuz it's pretty awful.

they also talked. i rember them telling the warden or some one that if they let them have the girl that was with them, they would let the guys go free.
