Anyone else thinks this movie sucked?
They would have been better off keeping the Cartoon movie storyline.
It would have been half as long and 10x better.

Fantastic movie. Worth the admission ticket. Great action, hot chicks, they took something absurdly comic bookish and ran with it and came out on top. It was well done. give it an A, not an A+ because it could have been better, but an A for sure.

I haven't seen it yet, but I have been getting nothing but positive feedback from customers at the video store I work at. So far I have only come across one person who didn't like it.
I'll let you know what I think after I see it, I may take the neice and nephew Friday to see it, but since the movie is their pick it may end up being Ratatoulli or Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.

I went in with low expectations and was happily surprised. Cheesy as all hell, but good fun, kitsch, some great eye candy (M. Fox) and decent CGI.
A nice slice of childhood nostalgia, but not everyone's cup of tea.

meh, They wanted to modernize the look of the transformers, and his old form (F-15) isn't exactly a very modern aircraft; so they gave him the f-22.
He kinda reminded me of a monkey in the movie though, broad shoulders/chest, swings alot, and acrobatic...
I think they pulled off a great job with the look of the transformers (especially megatron..his old model was atrocious looking) and it is for the better....

I got a idea for the next movie:
Mikeala (Sams girlfriend) gets a puppy off Sam as a birthday present, while they make out in Bumblebee, the pup breaks its tether and runs off into some woods, Frenzy (small robot) catches it, kills it and scans it's form, vaporises the body and his head detaches, nanobots begin to consttruct a synthetic replication of flesh around Frenzy's head, he then returns to Mikeala in pup mode while his body is retreived by Barricade (big partner)...
At night, Frenzy transforms and grabs Mikeala by the throat he tells her to cooperate with him and the Decepticons or he'll kill her entire family, she refuses and he blasts her in the face.
Next scene shows Mikeala going into her parents bedroom and her younger brother is sleeping with them, he wakes her parents she smiles and then alters shape revealing Frenzy, they scream and then a outside shot shows three flashes coming from in the room, silencing them one at a time...

I have to say, I really enjoyed it, although there was a disturbing lack of the dinobots, as well as a lack of devastator being made up of the constructobots, but I am willing to accept that.
I didn't feel like it was too long, as a matter of fact I remember looking at my watch about an hour in and thinking, "****, it's gonna be over soon, I want this to keep going" then realizing that it had another hour to go.
Another thing, I looked around and didn't see any discussions on it, what'd you guys think of that way badass untitled J.J. Abrams teaser trailer beforehand?

Loved this movie! There are many changes and yeah I was one of those who wrote the movie off cause of those very changes but seeing it on film and on the big screen made me not only accept it but freakin' love it.
Fun movie with maybe just a lil too much comedy but I can live with that. Awesome CGI and action scenes! Just hearing Peter bring Optimus Prime back to life just brought a tear to my eye. Megatron was well made as well but yeah, who didn't want to see more him? Hearing Hugo Weaving putting down Starscream was just too awesome. Yeah, I smell a sequel. :D

I think there's potential to have the movie bots turn up in a new show which isn't kid centric like recent ones have been. The only TF show to be watchable by all was Beast Wars and a return to that sort of story telling and characterization may boost things up a bit.
The new show Hasbros invested in doesnt seem all that good, it's Autobots versus human super villians with the occasional appearence of a Decepticon in a animation style like the 90's Batman cartoon.

i will not give too many spoilers (even tho i think you may have seen em all lol)
but the movie starts off VERY good, then dips down for quite alot, then picks up a bit when the majority of the decepticons come. The fight tween' prime and tron is meh, but the action sequeces during that time (other then said fight) are very well done.
alot of the action is blurry and difficult to see, and the transformers are over complicated (too many moving f*cking parts in their face for an example).
it is a good flick tho, even if the main character [human anyways] is INCREDIBLY annoying.

Wow....I'm a bit late on this one.
Having not been a fan of the original series or movie(I have seen them, though), I went into watching this flick with two things in mind:
1. Keep an open mind.
2. It's Micheal Bay.
With those things in mind and a day off of work, I made up a big plate of nachos, got comfortable, and kicked off a day of movies. Transformers was the first film I watched and man, I really enjoyed it. It was a good time. That's it in a nut shell. There's really no other way to describe it.
Is it deep and meaningful? Not really....(although I think I may have caught some religious undercurrents flowing in there. Anyone else catch these? I'll have to comment more on that after another viewing) Does it have character development? Not really. Is there really any depth to it at all? No.
All that stuff doesn't matter though. It looked great, it had laughs, it had action, and most importantly, it kept me entertained for 2 and a half hours.
I say roll on with the sequel and get Micheal Bay back.
This little lady wouldn't hurt, either.

She didn't need to act, anyway. I think she only had about 6 lines of real dialogue:confused:
However, I have some faith in Shia Lebouf being in Indy 4 now....
