I'll bet the only reason they're taking this action is because they were in danger of being in legal jeopardy. They claim to have 180 million profiles world wide so 29,000 is a relatively small number. However, in a place where many underage kids congregate online, just one is too many. These are not just adults talking to underaged kids they're actaully registered sex offenders. Who knows how many legions more are still on there that just haven't been caught...yet.

On the one hand this is excellent and there is no debating that (a mon avis)... however I kinda feel like somehow websites where people fill out profiles and have accessibility to chat with each other should demand something like your drivers license or state id number to verify your age and should at the very least show your age to everyone to who looks at your profile. If they choose not to display a profile or fill one out their age should still be available. I dont think it would hurt anyone but illegals but at least it could force people from pretending they're not as old as they say they are. Government entities or organizations like perverted justice should still have some way of creating underage profiles to find these sickies but I mean reading stories about old men pretending to not be on myspace and the like would be prevented if something like that could be created.
I looked up my brother on myspace and he actually made himself 26...made me wonder wtf? Is he 26 and I just thought he was 25 all these years? No apparently he's just lying to say he's a year older... why is beyond me but i'd love to expose the cretion.

The chatting alone isn't that dangerous. It's when these kids decide to meet up with someone they believe is a good 20 years younger. They just don't get how dangerous this all is and they must be protected.
