Predictably yet another set that comes out before the release of a new film. I don't own these films yet so it's a good buy for me imo.

I would say just by the original releases. Both of them together will me cheaper than that. Actually, I would say just buy "TDR" because "HOTC" is pretty lame, imo.

They make these sets so tempting though. I can hold off for a review. The whole deal with these things are the extras. If they're lame i might just take a pass.

lol, just the two separate releases in one box, you could totally buy each cheaper together than the 3-disc boxset. :p

I still dig HO1KC, but TDR is definitely the best one. Bring on Halloween'07.

Darth - the House DVD was a bit lacking in extras, though the menus are good fun. It's worth having and is probably dirt cheap now.

TDR has a fantastic DVD, the second disc is a 2 and a half hour documentary that covers the entire shoot, the be-all end-all coverage of the making of the film, absolutely essential.

That sounds really good to me. I'm the type who totally gets into the extras on a dvd. I still can't believe that there are some people who haven't watched dawn with the commentary on !! :stunned: I've watched every commentary from the ultimate edition. I figure if i'm paying all this money for a dvd i'm going to squeeze every bit of value out of it. Plus you find things out that you would have never known otherwise by listening to the commentary. :cool:

I've listened to the cast commentary (extended cut) and the GAR & Co commentary (theatrical cut)...but I haven't bothered with the Rubenstein one, just because I think he's a dick and he f*cked GAR over. :D

But aye, the DVD extras are always good fun usually, some DVDs don't bother at all, or they put out uninformative junk cut & paste stuff...or "making ofs" which are actually just everybody being interviewed sucking each other off about how amazing and nice they all are - WE DON'T CARE!!! :lol:

Now - that 2.5 hour making of for TDR is a true making of, you go away knowing basically every single thing about the flick, you see it being made, you see the crew's journey.

I'm not putting the movie down. I really liked it.
I just thought the making of documentary was equally impressive.

I wouldn't bother, it is one of the most boring commentaries I have ever heard. It's all figures and marketing talk. :dead:
