Man...this sort of thing is getting reported a lot more these days. I often wonder if it's happening more (insert theory of why that might be the case), or if it is just being recognized/reported more than it used to...

Horrible.

I'm waiting to see what "they" blame it on--video games, Marilyn Manson, hardcore rap, etc. After all, as we surely all realize by now, it's never the parents' fault.

Actually it could very well be that its only actually getting reported now... I'm not sure if anyone recalls... and I feel bad that I can't recall her name... but there was a female news reporter I believe from Florida who absolutely hated how her station (this was in late 70s or 80s I think) was showing more and more violent news... her station manager said hey that's what people want now ... they want to see the violence of everyday life and the graphic stuff other people do... she became incensed and due to that (and obviously mental issues to) she literally killed herself live on the air ... it was later used as fodder for that movie Breaking News...

People back a long time ago reported the news but it was stuff you could watch with your children in the room and there were just some things that weren't talked about. If a child killed a fellow child or baby or parent it was often unreported for various reasons. Either out of respect for the dead, the relatives of the living, or because perhaps the mentality of the time was just that of... this is an isolated incident and we dont want people to get the wrong idea about our town or whatever...

These days its like nothings off limits... its all about sex and violence and i'm not so sure if that's a bad thing... its important to get these stories out there to make people aware of a seemingly growing problem in this country... that being parents aren't parenting and the children are suffering mentally and physically and its affecting others often violently...

To be honest just from experience with my brother I can't say music is a factor or that movies are either. And the worst part of our childhood was our alcoholoic mother who took her anger out on me and not him... or our parents divorce... but somehow somewhere along the way he literally went insane and i'm not talking about normal brother-sister fighting I mean the boy literally grabbed me by my throat and tried to kill me... my parents figured it would be an isolated incident and that therapy would help... after that something worse happened but again... god forbid we call the police lets just send him to more therapy... the final straw was when he attacked our step mother after she found his porno collection and he was sent to NMMI ... but I mean... wtf? He wasn't dropped as a kid, he didn't get abused as a child even behind closed doors, he's just evil. And I mean EVIL... its fitting that he works for the LA Sheriffs Dept I guess... but I still want to know wtf happens to people who are so fuct up? I truly think some cases they were born that way...

My biology prof told me some people were born with urges to kill and that the government should recognise and find them to hire them for the armed forces... I didn't really buy it until I thought of my brother... he could be right...

dude most people watch the news for the same reason they watch soap operas, so they can say "oo look, were much better than them" and so at dinner times they have something to sit and graze in front of rather than sit at a dinenr table adn actually converse.:bored:

Are you serious? I watch the news to know whats going on in my town so I dont head to downtown during the armed robbery sprees and to know if anyone got attacked at the beach today... I dont usually go haha we're so better than them... of course living in Charleston I dont get that chance lol

And of course we all watch the news so we can get the first reports of the dead rising and eating the living.....

ill go to the internet for news myself than sit and watch some smug ancours fake laughing and reading from a teleprompter i dunno why but the idea you can make a career for reading news someone else took the time to actually investigate is just...i dont think wrongs the word exactly but its pretty damn close.
