Hellsing is a badass brotha, down with the Mythos ;) It's a reference to the HP Lovecraft short story, "The Colour Out of Space", in which a creature seemingly composed of energy and of alien origin arrives to wreak havoc by way of a meteor.

Wow that's FREAKY!!!!

However...

"Increasingly we think that people witnessed a fireball, which are not uncommon, went off to investigate and found a lake of sedimentary deposit, which may be full of smelly, methane rich organic matter," said Dr Caroline Smith, a meteorite expert at the London-based Natural History Museum.

"This has been mistaken for a crater."

I read it back in the day. Lovecraft was ahead of his time. Wasn't the 1980's movie The Curse based off that story?

Yeah.....this is a little freaky. So if the crater is that large, I guess they haven't tried to make any plans to get the meteor out and study it?

Let's hope this disease or whatever it is doesn't make it's way out of there....
