This is a cool little do it yourself website mainly dedicated to home improvements and crafts, but I stumbled across a cool couple of videos on how to make zombies (damn cheap and the effects are pretty good!) how to make brains, and how to make human heads you can stab, blow up and shoot. Okay, the human head thing wasn't all that impressive, but with some improvisation, you could make something cool, and all really, really affordable.
