Doesn't feel right to me!! Hope he's not going to become a 'Data' and there just for 'comic relief'!!

much as i love simon peggs comedy roles, that jsut doesnt work, now why didnt they just get someone who looks and sounds like scotty like they did with lenoard nemoy and zachary quinto?
which is another thing, id watch it and just see tim from spaced, and ive got a bit more faith in quinto being a convincing spock rather than just "sylar in space".

I wouldn't sell the Pegg up the swanny just yet, at least let him prove himself, if it's still not a right fit - then sh*tfits all round! :):p

Well, maybe he can pull it off... remember, he was in Band of Brothers and that was a brilliant series.

Yeh, but was it like one sentence, or a reasonably large role?

Pegg in Diary is doing, like some other genre stalwarts/fans, radio announcements I think ... I remember reading that somewhere.

As for him in Band of Brothers, I too didn't know he was in it till I was told, then I think I saw him in it last time I watched it through, but I can't remember off the top of my head, I'd have to re-watch it all again to specifically look out for him, although it wouldn't be a major hardship, Band of Brothers was absolutely superb.

Holy crap, I didn't even realise they were doing a follow up! "The Pacific", eh? Hope it's just as good as you said, but hopefully they're putting the same thought, care and attention into it ... and it's certainly going to be bit - anywhere between 150 and 200 million dollery-doo's!

Damn....Pegg is 37? He seems alot younger to me....

He also worked with Abrams on Mission Impossible 3. I wonder how he got this job?:p Maybe this can give me a small reason to want to see this movie.

Interesting that Sulu is being played by "the Asian dude from American Pie" (and Harold & Kumar).

Also, the frowny mono-brow bloke from 24 and Heroes is playing Young Spock...still no Kirk, hmmm...
