it just stopped working, saying that an update was needed and i clicked on the link it gave me to microsofts website. I try the validation thing and my browser freezes on me.

i try to dl it from the download center but it isn't working, as apparently, it's a version that i allready have.

so i'm stuck- trying to find a version that isn't out yet.

any ideas?

use WINAMP as your video playback, better quality anyway. Just set it as the default program for WMV files.

WinAmp?! That's goof for music, but what you want for video, other than Windows Media Player, is VLC Player.

Yeah, I find that VLC is a good player for movies, I also like the DivX player.

If you really want your WMP back, try creating a new user account, I always use a secondary account and leave the admin account alone, that way, if you have any ****-ups you can usually fix them by creating a new user account.

ugh, dude my pc thought a crucial application called sporder was spyware and removed it, but it actually meant that the internet, word processors, printers, everything BUT windows media player 11 couldnt work anymore, so count yourself lucky, ti could be worse:lol:

Try Media Player Classic, that might work:
