AVOID THIS DVD!

it is advertised on amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Night-Living-Dead-Special-Discs/dp/B0009YVCV8/ref=pd_sbs_d_h__shvl_img_2/202-8451059-6329456) as a "2 disk special edition"

i bought it and it is NOT 2 DISK! IT IS ONLY 1 DISK and as for special features, it has one documentry which is also on the trilogy boxset and that is it... no commentry, no new footage, no TV spots.. nothing. i do not call that a special edition.

That's a cool cover regardless. If they were really swift, they could have pulled it off in black & white.

Is it just me, or do all the official releases of NIGHT sport the absolute worst cover design in DVD history?

Exactly which documentary does that R2 release contain?

I bought this as well. Shame really, because it's a decent transfer and to the best of my knowledge, it is totally uncut.

And DC is absolutely spot on, I don't see any NotLD covers that reach out and grab me (apart from the one that is being discused here), it is fair to say that they all look a bit crap really.

AVOID THIS DVD!
That DVD is like £5.99 in my local HMV, what do you expect for a cheap ass re-release?

Exactly which documentary does that R2 release contain?
The 25th anniversary documentary.

I always believed that since Romero didn't have much money for NIGHT, he instinctively worked with he did have to make the ghouls scary -- strength in numbers, lots of hands reaching through windows, doors towards the characters and right at the camera (the audience).

The ghouls are represented more by their grasping hands than their "flesh eating" mouths, and that concept screams "DVD cover" about this film than any other. A DVD cover is supposed to sell the movie, yet most all of them look like a child's grade school art project.

The 25th anniversary documentary.
Thanks, capncnut. Do you know if it's the 55-minute or 85-minute version?

It's the 85 min version.

Let me correct myself. I just got back from HMV in London and it's £1.99!!!

I have yet to see this 25th Anniversary Documentary. Anyone know if it's available for viewing online?

Another con warning, on the 2 disc set of City of the Dead (aka Horror Hotel) with Christopher Lee, it says quite clearly that there is a commentary. Believe me, there ain't.

Dammit I was going to buy that disc. The documentary is listed as "Reflections of the Living Dead" and I thought it was a new one I hadn't seen :(

Has anyone tried this (http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3362990/Night-Of-The-Living-Dead/Product.html) disc. It boasts "an all new interview with George A Romero" which I would definitely be interested in if true.

And that Off Color films colourised Night is not official, they only do PD releases.
