View Full Version : XBOX 360 update causing a slew of problems.

Most of my friends are having the same problems that I'm experiencing with my 360 after this update. It has frozen twice, and every time I do something with the guide it takes up to 2-3 minutes to process... in the mean time it just sits there frozen in time. Call Of Duty 4 keeps freezing, also, and it's near impossible to get into any multiplayer games.

Tons of people over at the XBOX forums are having the same problems as me. Some worse than others. This is really ticking me off, considering I just finally bought a new 360 a couple of weeks ago after my SECOND ONE broke and I was XBOXless for a couple months. :mad: I HATE MICROSOFT!

I DON'T THINK THEY EVEN TEST THE SH!t THEY DO IN THE UPDATES!

No problems on my end, the Xbox Guide is a lot faster than before, actually.

Same problems here. I didn't even bother trying to play after I reset it the 1st time. Just play your Wii or whatever fora few days until they fix it up. Typical Microsoft.

Well, I just played COD4 for the past like 2.5 hours with no troubles at all...

I haven't downloaded the update yet, I was going to do it in a few minutes, but now I will wait a day or two.

I'm having no probs either and all my friends/family who own 360's (like maybe 10-15 or so) are still on their launch consoles and are happy bunnies.

Had a game pause on me once about 6 months ago (Elder Scrolls) but fair enough, I was playing it for like 7 hours non-stop.

just updated mine, crashed at first, but mines a recon unit adn does that sometimes, it took a while to load the new live blade thing but its running pretty smooth now, havent tried a game et.

Go ahead and get the update. It seems to be running smooth now. It was only up until about 9 PM yesterday that everyone was having problems.

What makes me really mad though, is Microsoft deleted all of the threads on the subject, now that it's running smooth, in what I assume is an attempt to cover up the fact that they messed up big time.

The issue I'm having with it is that there does not seem to be a method to connecting to a PC for video anymore... only "media Center PC's"

I used to be able to connect to my PC just fine....


It bugs me as this update was supposed to have better video format handeling.

I can't describe how much more you'd love it if you were online gaming. COD4 single player is a great almost cinematic experience... but on XBOX Live it's a whole nother level of intensity.

To which I'll reply to myself:

"Because A) I couldn't afford to, and B) our internet set up doesn't support it and C) the geography of where the box is and where the connection is means it's not possible, which in turn leads back to A, if you wanna drop the "wireless" line"

Then I'd go back to my single player experience and love it...now if you don't mind, I've got a wicked spot of indigestion working it's way around, grrrr...

aye that is wierd, even when i had dial up i just plugged my 360 by the ethernet cable i got with it into the modem to use live, granted that meant i couldnt use my computer for the net at the same time but it worked, though now i got a brand new modem with 4 connections so now ive got it on 24/7, but downstairs unfortunatly, so i cant do the usual live banter of saying how the other players are fags or insinuating i had sexual relations with there mother or/and father.:lol:

We don't get cable out here where I live. We get our t'internet (broadband) through the phone line...plus the geography of the house...and I'm really lazy...and I don't have a 360 hard-drive cos I didn't want one when I got the console (still don't want one yet :D)...so quit buggin' me! :p

I have cable internet at my place. The thing is, there's no port where my entertainment center is located and i'm too lazy to run a wire through the house. I also think it's ridiculous to have to pay to use live...

mz, bassman.....go to a sperm-bank, get paid for something that's easy to do, repeat until you can buy a wireless router and pay for some live goodness....

Oh yes, sperm banks pay a nice little sum of money. But we have requirements for it over here. You have to be a certain heighth and have a college degree.
