So, i'm listening to Get Jiggy wit it, and yea, it got me thinking. Who here actually remembers Will smith as a musician?

I remember watching his music videos when I was...**** man....young as all hell.

and we can't forget about the classic "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme. I have it on my playlist, it is rockin.

pretty funny, looking back on it now, I loved this song hahahahahaha.

I don't remember him being a musician....but I remember his rap career. Him and Dj Jazzy Jeff. "Parents just don't understand".

I'm a huge fan of early to late-mid 80's hip-hop so, naturally, I have the first Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff LP, Rock The House. I highly recommend it.

Other than that album, though, I pretty much can't stand the rest of his music.

I'm with you on that one. All of his solo stuff like the songs to Men in Black and Wild Wild West, "Willenium", and all that sucked. Has he officially given up on all that to become a serious actor?

checking more of him out on youtube, and I must say, he seems to have try'd to cash in on this hip hop thing.

so far the latest by him i've found is party starter from 2005.

I thought he was pretty funny in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,
but I have never laughed so hard at him in my life. What a guy :P

His version of just the two of us is actually pretty good.

Summertime is a fun song, as far as I'm concerned.

And for very fun cheese see Nightmare on my Street (not original video :( ):

He was great as the Fresh Prince. My fave song was "You saw my blinker b*tch"

I remember his stuff, especially "Girls Are Nothing But Trouble", which was rapped over the I Love Jeanie theme. I have watch Will evolve as an actor. His stuff on Bel Air was funny, Six Degrees of Separation was really good. Made in ameica was funny. He really came to shine when the first Bad Boys was released, then ID4 sent his career soaring.

I think he is very talented, and I am glad to see him more focussed on his acting career instead of his music career.

God his music was lame bubblegum pop. The only track that was any good was Jazzy Jeffs Live track on the first album - which didnt feature Wont Smiths vocals. He brought nothing to hip-hop and i doubt if anyone noticed him leave.

He may not have been a major influence but he did help bring it more mainstream. That could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

i try to forget that willenium even exists.

i am not a big fan of comedy (at least his movies) nor do i like any of the big budget scifi things he has done. ID4, men in black and i, robot all frakking suck the big one as far as i am concerned.

his "music" was, for the largest part, instantly forgettable teeny pop made by someone who seemed (to me at least) to be trying to make his image "white friendly." so that suburban moms would say "oh that will smith he seems like such a nice boy" and continue to shell out money for his stuff.

I was a teenager when he was releasing his records, and at that time i liked it as feel good clean music,my tastes have changed over the years though & say all that stuff was released now rather than when it was i wouldnt have liked it.I hate RnB music with a passion,50-cent & all those plastic gangsters really grind my gears

I used to be big into Hip Hop and RnB music, but now I can't stand most of it. 50 Cent, Eminem, Jay-Z, all of those guys make me wanna reach through the radio and press the stop button on the CD player at the radio station. I never thought I would ever say it, but, I would like to see rap music go away forever.

i'll second that to a certain extent. the only rap i have every been able to get into is the early snoop dogg/dr. dre stuff. the chronic and doggystyle. stuff like "ain't no fun if the hommies can't have none" and "doggy dogg world" are pretty cool but other than that i don't really much care for it.

"i'm going out looney like o-dog."
