They weren't given away. You had to buy a soda.

I still have my Batman Forever glasses from McDonalds. Two of them. Two-Face flips a coin, and the arc of the coin forms the cup.

1992 is too long ago for Jurassic Park...which came out in 1994. :sneaky::p

Still though - back in the day - I was just a kid back then, saw it in the cinema, great stuff.

Jurassic park has to be early '93 at the latest as i was still in primary school when i watched it at the cinema, and i started secondary school in september '93!I had a few of those cups as well, although they were thrown away when they got too faded.
I remember it took about 2 years before jurassic park came out on video as well!these days it would have been released on dvd about 2 months after it finished showing!

the cups dated '92, so unless its form a parallel dimension in which it came out earlier im tempted to agree with it. though wikipedia has it down as a '93 release, wierd.

THE CUP LIES!!!

Actually yeah, 1993...June 11th in fact.

I wonder where I got 1994 from? Hmmm...anyway...1993, blimey...I was 9...just started watching horror films as well, oh memory lane...

Perhaps the cups were made late-ass 1992 in preparation for the promotion a couple of months into 1993, so that by the time it was released everybody would be hyped up on Jurassic Park sugar...and be obese.

aye i reckon your right.

about the date thing not the sugar thing, allthough hasnt disney land had to close some rides as there are too many "plus sized" patrons on them cuasing strees to the weldings or something?, i dont know if that was on the news or smodcast though.

I still have my Burger King collector's glasses from 1983. Return of the Jedi edition.

hellsing - it was because the boats were 'bottoming out' from the fahkin' huge bottoms being parked on the boats. The water ways aren't deep enough to cancel out the huge tubs of walking McDonald's burgers wearing baseball caps parking their f'arses in there (f'arses - just made it up - fat arses, abbreviated...boshty!)

"Fassy" is another good alternate word for "arse", that was one we used at Uni back in 2005...happy days. :D

i still have the star wars glasses (and yes they were real glass back then) given out many, many moons ago (like 1980 or so) when empire came out from burger king. i also have a king kong (the 77 remake) glass from way back then as well.

i'll have to take a snap of them someday and put it up.

Hey, were there diffrent versions of the BK ROJ glasses? The only one I remember seeing had Luke, Vadar, the Emperor w/ his red guards & cronnies. I was cleaning the house before my move and found them still in excellent condition.

More than anything (when it comes to old collectible kitsch--my old lost comic collection withstanding), I wish I still had my old Star Wars (episode IV) commemorative glasses that we'd gotten from Burger King when I was little.

Sigh...
