About Down the Road

A bizarre plague of the walking dead.
A nation desperate for survival.

George Zaragoza just wanted to go to work and teach. But now he must face a horrific new reality: reanimated corpses attacking and devouring the living, federal agencies and military run amok, and an unpredictable civilian population surviving on their own terms.

Southbound I-35 was once the road he took to work. Now it is a bloody trail of bodies, wreckage, and woe standing in George's way. But before George can get home, he must come face to face with a ghost from his past, a vicious truth that could prove to be his undoing.

Can George survive the obstacles on southbound I-35, FEMA and Homeland Security, and the army of flesh-eating zombies on the verge of exterminating humanity as he travels down the road?

I bought "Down the Road" shortly after it came out. It was a fun read, quick and entertaining, and offered a different plot to zombie horror instead of the traditional "camping in one place" deal. I may not buy the new version but I was excited to see that a sequel is coming out, can't wait to read it.

Hey Dingo,

Thanks for giving my book a chance the first time... I think you might enjoy the new stuff in the 2nd edition (ie. first chapter of the sequel), but I can understand if you don't get it...

At any rate, I'm glad you enjoyed the first one...

I finally got my copy from Amazon and I've breezed through the first 6 chapters while on the train ride home from work. I have to say that I love the book, so far. I'm already set on getting the sequel once it comes out. :)

... for the gracious review... I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with the Amazon.com crowd and for giving my book a chance...

My favorite line was, "... I've seen weirder things at a frat party"... good one...

At any rate, thanks again and tell others who you think might enjoy it as well...

Sincerely,

Bowie V. Ibarra:D

It was a fun read and I'm really excited about the follow-up book. That was a very touching sample chapter. Alot of zombie stories and books rarely use that familial situation to bring home just how tragic such an epidemic would be to the core family.

Dude,

I'm in the middle of transcribing it... It's coming along great... I really think that though it will be much of the same themes, there's a lot more going on... and the ending will rock...

Thanks again... your words make me want to write even faster now...

Well, I'll be one of the first to order it and probably put up a review on Amazon.

I think I've reviewed quite abit of zombie books, comics and dvds for Amazon.

Quick note to everyone about DtR2...

Down the Road: On the Last Day was in its fourth draft last night... this draft has been sent to Permuted for approval and to the print shop for final tweeking...

After being away from my manuscript for about two weeks, getting back to it was exciting... In my opinion, this story is two times better than the first... I hope ya'll think the same...

Sincerely,

Bowie V. Ibarra
