Possible Big Blooper In Resident Evil Apocalypse

I'm sitting here watching Resident Evil Apocalypse on SciFi right now while I'm doing some programming and it just occurred to me that they made one big mistake that I never caught before. I don't know if anyone else has ever thought of this but, here goes, I think they used the wrong breed of dog for the zombie dogs. When they show the outside of the school a Racoon City PD K-9 unit vehicle is wrecked and it shows the broken cages in the open back doors of the vehicle. The dogs in the school building are clearly Dobermans but, correct me if I'm wrong here, don't most police department K-9 units use German Shepherds? Do ANY police departments use Dobermans? Yeah, yeah, I know, Umbrella probably gave them the dogs since they pretty much ran everything there, right?

the cerberus' in game have allways been dobermans, plus theres no racoon city p.d anyway, so you cant really check for realism.

Good catch. Many departments are going away from the German Shepards because of the hip problems they have later in life.

It is possible that a German Sheppard without any hair and diseased like in the flick could look a great deal like a Doberman...But yea those movies are not that good...pure popcorn and bubble gum fun.

If you think about it it's one of the most plausible dead films.

If we're not careful splicing up genes and stuff what happened in that film and I am legend is just a matter of time. I always said that we're going to be the ones to wipe ouselves out. No species lasts forever but due to our higher brain function we'll do it ourselves and end up spending very little time on this planet relative to how old it is. And Jesus will weep for us....

But yeah, it's a nod to the fans of the games. I guess you don't play them much, huh?
