Fox News Responds to Electronic Arts
Sorry is the hardest word for fair and balanced network.
By Mark Whiting, 01/25/2008

The strange spat between EA and Fox has made for some interesting water cooler gossip this week. In case you missed it, the story began when Fox decided that it was a good idea to run an extremely erroneous report on BioWare's Mass Effect which falsely highlighted gratuitous amounts of "full frontal nudity and graphic sex" present in the "marketed-to-children" sci-fi epic.
During the broadcast, Game Head's Geoff Keighley heroically tried to point out all the reasons why these sorts of claims were total bunk, but unfortunately Fox News was having none of it. Instead they chose to crack Luke Skywalker porn jokes at Mass Effect's expense.

After the show Electronic Arts quite rightly took serious offense at having their IP libeled on network TV, calling out the fear mongering 'journalists' at Fox in a strongly worded letter sent from the office of company Vice President of Communications, Jeff Brown.

Today, MTV Multiplayer brings word that Fox has indeed responded to Jeff's comments -- though unfortunately for gamers it wasn't with an apology. Rather than correcting (or admitting) their mistake, the network has opted to pass the buck, saying that they repeatedly attempted to get EA on their show and that EA refused. Says Fox:

"Fox News Channel has extended several invitations to EA through a company representative to appear on Live Desk With Martha MacCallum to discuss Mass Effect and the segment which aired on Monday. We have received no response."
Right. And what relation exactly does any of that have to do with blatant lies broadcast over a supposedly fair and balanced network?

As always, Fox stays fair and balanced....

Oh, here is a story with the actual video where a supposed expert says how statistics show that the people who play video games are adolescent males... which is funny because the real statistics show that the average video gamer is 29 years old. This lady does not know at all what she is talking about.

Their panel is full of morons too, they have no idea what they are talking about. I hope EA sues them, they have no credibility after that "Story"
