This is one for fans of Dead Reckoning and other machines of destruction.

On the History Channel series, Shockwaves, the latest program for true videos of big booms & nasty accidents, the newest episode features a town, Granby, Colorado almost leveled by a disgruntled business owner in June of 2004.
Apparently this fella had a fight with the town over zoning laws, built himself a wicked bunker of steel and concrete atop a big ass dozer, and began tearing up the community.
The killdozer had bullet proof glass for the gunports and used video cameras to guide the driver on his mad rampage, until the town sherrif had no choice but to call up the National Guard and request a missle attack.
Unfortunate, or fortunately, the siege ended without a Michael Bey mixup when the maniac machine got hung up while tearing down a rival business, it broke through the basement. Cornered by the cops, the crazy ate a bullet.
No one else was killed, thankfully, but damn that thing was nasty.

Do you remember that gun fight where the guys were covered in bullet proof vests etc and were just walking down the streets the with police popping away at them, with no effect.

The guys were just going back to the cars to re-arm etc?

The article about the driver has a pic of the killdozer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_Heemeyer

Neil - LA police were issued a few hundred US govt surplus M16A1 rifles right after the North Hollywood incident. Most 9mm carbines formerly issued have been replaced in police arsenals with the AR15/M16 rifle.

yep. they shot it out with the cops for like half an hour or more - funny thing the police had to go to some local gun shops for better firepower!
