Do you think this was done deliberately or just a coincidence?
It has a weird sychronity.

The only similarity is the black eye makeup and the pale face. It's a very common way to make someone look "undead".

pure coincidence. i don't think the designer of the joker makeup was thinking of beetlejuice at all.

I agree, and even if they were thinking Beetlejuice the filmmakers would just deny it so they don't get sued. And on another note Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

Bob Kane was inspired by the movie The Man Who Laughs from 1928 when he developed The Joker.

Here is the poster from the movie:

Kaos, I have been trying to track down a picture of this guy for ages. The image really used to shake me up as a young child, cheers man.

Why so serious?:p It's a pure coincidence that they both have white make up and black around the eyes. Beetlejuice also doesn't have green hair, a cut smile, and red lipstick.

Alot of people have also compared it to The Crow.

I can see more similarities between this character and The Joker than I can see between Beetlejuice and The Joker.
