The lives of firefighters - friggin' heroes - are on the line because of dimwitted, sh*t flinging moron criminals.

Also of note - the firefighters have CCTV in the cockpit to show their view of the street ahead, but they were saying that the CCTV has been of absolutely no use whatsoever - and damn straight - what good is CCTV, it records your death and then you might get to jail some lowlife for a criminally short amount of time so they can watch TV, meanwhile the innocent victim is dead or battered up completely.

Untrue as proven. If these criminals want guns they get guns wether or not they are illegal. Marijuana is illegal too and yet I don't know a single person who hasn't smoked it.

Trained rapid response officers? unarmed population? Sounds like the Gestapo. The fire department always has a police escort here in America.

As far as I know, not as a matter of course. Do the firefighters in America *always* have a police escort, whatever they're doing, or just in certain cases?

E.g. the fire brigade came round to my parents' house ot put out a chimney fire with no police... and really, no police would have been needed, as the situation wasn't *really* that dangerous (we only had to leave the house very briefly, before returning to make everyone cups of tea!) and there was no criminal aspect to the fire (like arson).
