if you are a serious film buff i suggest that you check this out post haste. it is an incredible movie that takes place pretty much entirely inside the hermitage. it winds through 300 years of russian history (from peter the great to the present) and is done in one continous shot - no breaks, no cuts at all. it is a remarkable acheivement of cinematography.
to quote one commentator (or was it the original tagline): 2000 Actors, 300 Years of Russian History, 33 Rooms at the Hermitage Museum, 3 Live Orchestras, 1 Single Continuous Shot.
whether you like this film or hate it you must concede this: it is a remarkable piece of film that should probably required study for anyone wanting to become a filmmaker.
