    The Cure

So I've been listening to some of their bigger songs, and I like them, and I wanted to know if it was worth picking up a few of their CDs (I've had a few bad experiences where I like the big songs but I pick up the CD and the rest of the songs all suck).

    If so what's recommended?

my favourite one was "disintegration", kick arse! was meant to seem them live a while back but didnt get off my arse

but when it comes to goth stuff (although most people say the cure aint goth), joy division wipe the floor with them! "unknown pleasures" all the way

this is a pretty crap live recording (not many exist cos the singer killed himself a few years into their career) the studio version is a beautifully produced, echoey, cold sounding masterpiece

"Disintegration" is an absolute must have - irrespective of being a Cure fan or not, it's one of those albums you simply must have to have a record collection that's at least half decent.

The title track is my favourite on the album. You definitely need to get "Disintegration".

I've listened to pretty much every Cure album out there and it's quite hard to determine what the best one is. Three Imaginary Boys, Pornography, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Disintegration and Bloodflowers were all great but the one I got the biggest kick out of was the remixes album Mixed Up. An hour of the finest music you'll ever hear. Trust me, it's like having your face melted off with rainbows!

Yeah, I would say go for it, dude. They're pretty good band. Nothing really life changing(in my opinion), but still good listening.

The tune 'Burn' from the Crow Soundtrack is decent.

Yea, so I picked up a few CDs, and I'm listening to Disintegration right now, and it was totally worth it.

I've been hearing songs that I really like that I had no idea were even written by them.

I think their best song is "The Walk". Ah, brings back fond memories of the early 80's.

I was a stagehand for a long time and I worked a Cure show in the late 80s. I was working with the guitar roadie. He had real long hair and a Sabbath T shirt ripped and old. He asked me to get him some weed. I couldnt, but he was a super nice, funny guy who set up the guitars and had a really interesting conversation with me.
Turns out it was RObert Smith with No makeup and no goo in his hair. Black Sabbath shirt?
    What a nice guy.

In a diferent tangent, the way they write their songs is very interesting. Every Guitar part is exremely simple but they interlock, barely overlap and rarely play the same notes. Yet it sounds like one big guitar. A good example for gtr player with little experience to sound way better than they actually are/

The Cure are too in touch with their feminine side for my taste. Music should be aggressive and dominant and injected with a lot of macho bravado and testosterone. It shouldn't be emo and Friday, i'm in love!

Friday, i'm in love is one of the worst songs I have ever heard. Its their Love in an elevator.
I like all kinds of music, though. Form Death Metal to classical (not BAch and Mozart. Bach blows) to foppy goth and disco. I hate RnB , its the worst genre ever. Reggaeton is a very colse second. I hate meringue most, mostly because my neighbors engulf me with it daily.

What I like most about the "Disintegration" album is how it's a good couple of minutes (mostly) before the lyrics kick in, so you get completely into the groove of the song and you feel at home before they actually get going (and you never feel bored or impatient waiting for the lyrics).

Well The Cure started off as a new wave punk band before wandering into goth territory.

The Electric Hellfire Club have a great cover of the Cure tune 'Killing an Arab'
