That's a good point... cliche? perhaps... A new perspective? Absolutely. A great story. I think so. And I know many others will think the same thing.. You know, when you're keeping it in the 'Romero' world, as I like to do, it's a challenge to keep the ideas fresh... I like to think that I add another great story, similar but different, than other 'Romero' themed stories... If you love zombie stories of all shapes and sizes, than mine is another to add to the list... There certainly are many others taking the risk and making great stories adding their own twists (aka Duza, Keene) that have paid off well for them through good storytelling... Personally, I like working in the world of the one who inspires many of us... At any rate, I hope you will ultimately give the story a chance... If the first one was a 'violent, sordid tale of love, revenge, and flesh eating ghouls', then this one is a "A harsh, cruel story of survival in a world forced to unite or suffer a fate worse than death"... Hi Bowie, I guess you post on here (you say so in your commentary section in Down The Road). I got that along with David Wellington's Monster Island and the Book of the Dead cinema compendium from Santa. I really enjoyed Down The Road - wasn't too sure at first, but got into the characters - a simple effective tale which would make a good movie. I know people say how Briane Keene's Rising etc is "awesome". It is a good read but can you imagine that as a movie - just too big to make. Down The Road would be a bit like 28 Days Later scale wise - workable and enjoyable (minus the rampant sex). Looking forward to the next book (actually just finished Down The Road last night - have not read the "free" chapter from the new book yet). So, blatant vanity from me, - from one "author" to another - if you get a spare moment - what's your opinion on my first chapter of my flash fiction story Storm of the Dead - it's on here somewhere.... showthread.php?t=4533 and showthread.php?t=4631

Great to hear good old Santa isn't against delivering 'violent, sordid tales of love, revenge, and flesh eating ghouls' to the kiddies around the world... hope he's not just trying to be 'cool'... would ruin his street cred... I guess as a movie buff, my stories take on a very 'movie-like' path... dramatic structure, sure, but very movie-like... I don't know... maybe the rampant sex parts can be toned down, Skinemax style... Looking forward to the next book (actually just finished Down The Road last night - have not read the "free" chapter from the new book yet). The next one is even better... everything the first one had turned up a notch... I anticipate this to be a great story . The plot line is good , I hope that the characters are realistic . I heard about this novel about 6months ago somewhere , I cant recall where though . Reading a book can be much more visceral than a movie ; your minds-eye creates the images inspired by the author . Makes for a truly personal experience in horror . On an attempt to merge "Down the Road" w/ "On the Road" (Jack Kerouac) just lept to mind , I have a sarcastic side .Tripping on acid , fighting zeds ? That would be too much . Zeds on LSD? WTF? I am joking of course . I will be reading this soon . Thanks for all the contributing posters in this thread , I might've forgotten about it , being a new father and all .
