    Music query

Ive been listening to a lot of instrumentals lately....for some reason I have been finding lyrics in general to be completely irritating(I know Im a crazy person)....Like fingernails on a chalk board

My probelm is though I have trouble finding instrumentals that I like because I dont know how to be exposed to the types that I may like....

So for the most part the only way I find something I like is by seeing movies or visual media and picking up on part of the soundtrack....

So these are artists that I have found that I like

Michael Nyman (you may know the music from the Piano)
Trevor Jones and Randy Edelman (Last of the Mohican)
Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain)
Golden Arm Trio (from a Scanner Darkly)
Kanno Yoko (from Escaflowne especially the song Shadow of Doubt)
Susumu Hirasawa (about 2/3rds of his stuff from Berserk)
    Javier Navarrete (from Pans Labyrinth)
    Apocalyptica

But how can I find more....how can I specifically look for this type of music....

I dont understand why you dont have
    Angelo Badalamenti on your list

he does all the great music for david lynchs films

and his albums that he does with lynch and without are
    awesome.

and you may like the lyrics that lynch writes
    put to music by angelo
"mysteries of love" from blue velvet is awesome

but he has a lot of music without lyrics
you need to check him out

Its funny you mention that....I do have several songs from Lynch movies that I did not know the names of.....I think they are all from Blue Velvet

I dont know why I did not think of looking into Lynch movie music composers cause when I watch all those movies I almost always think...this music is awsome!

*grins*....Im about to get some new music!

    Most film scores are instrumental.

Not sure if you are fussed on piano music, but give Ludovico Einaudi a try. Philip Glass is also good.

BTW, I agree that some of Michael Nyman's work is fantastic.
Oblivion gallops closer, favoring the spur, sparing the rein - I think we will be gone soon
