Yet another US Scifi Channel Rant

It's bad enough they show a NBC soap opera 'Passions' in the morning.

Now the Scifi channel is showing episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. And later this month a WWE wrestling event?

    WTF?

Yeh they do show some really random stuff - I suppose this is tenuously linked to science fiction, but they keep showing (here in the UK) Emmanuelle: In Space (or "2000")...whatever it's called it's bad soft porn, on a sci-fi channel. Like most channels we get here, when they're in down time they broadcast stuff from one of the shopping channels *blargh*.

I like some of the original programming on Sci fi (insert random nothing-is-original anymore comment, here), but what ****es me off about sci fi, is how they'll license or talk about doing some great projects (an adaptation of the Forever War springs to mind) and then shelve it, while things like Boa vs. Python vs. Trouser Snake III gets churned out.

    Otherwise, I appreciate the channel.

i dunno WTF was up with that. last week they ran thre EP of SVU before they "premeired" american psycho.

i think they're just tyring to fill holes in their schedule, without runing yet more episodes of Stargate or Ghosthunters.

I have no issue with Law & Order SVU being shown, or any LAW & ORDER show being shown. However, showing a SOAP (passions) on Sci-Fi is uncalled for and it just gives the channel even lower credibility than it already had.

All those frigging Star Trek Episodes out there, and they can't get the frigging rights to them? WTF?

I know why Sci Fi runs Passions. Passions has a witch in it, there were also evil dolls that ran rampant on the show a few years ago. One of the midgets whom played one of the dolls died so they got rid of both of them (there was the guy and a girl). The reason I know so much about Passions is my bosses daughter used to watch it during our lunch breaks a few years ago.

As for the Law & Order and WWF I have no clue at all. That confuses me actually.

The best thing I saw from Sci-Fi in recent history was Dog Soldiers.

our sci fi doesnt show stargate or ghost hunters there on sky one, and season two of ghost hunters still hasnt aired yet . anyway sci-fi does make some badd choices like showing lame ass films like annaconda, and they showed firefly for a while here in the uk but cancelled it after about a month.

and i saw a dvd of boa vs. python in my local hmv for £20.

Sci Fi channel really needs to stop making/buying those Sci Fi original movies. Really. Once in a blue moon they have something that isn't utter crap on, at least to my tastes, but it's kinda painful trying to wade through the crap to find it.

And yeah, I was wondering WTF when the preview screen said L&O SVU too. I do know that Sci Fi channel is owned by Universal which owns NBC. Maybe that had somethig to do with it?
