    Diary of the Dead, Feb. 16, 2008 5:00 p.m.

I saw Diary today at the Landmark Nuart theater in LA, The marquee looked great so I photographed it for posterity. Then I noticed on the poster outside the box office that GAR will be in person tomorrow night at 7:30 so I bought a ticket to come back. I first saw the original Night in 1968 when I was 8 years old. For some reason my grandmother thought it was a appropriate film for an 8 year old. Even though it traumatized me and I had a fear of cemeteries for several years, I came to love the work of GAR and the genre in particular. I have never watched a GAR film that I did not enjoy in some way. Martin is my favorite vampire film. As for Diary , I liked it a lot. I did not dislike Land, but I did feel it was the weakest of the series. I would rate Diary now as the 4th film in the series, if you can call it a series. My rating would be as follows:
    1. Dawn (the 156 minute version is hands down the best Z film ever made)
    2. Night
    3. Day
    4. Diary
    5. Land
I also think that Tom Savini's remake of Night was just outstanding and Zack Snyder's Dawn was excellent as well. So I hope all of you GAR fans enjoy Diary. If I get the chance to meet GAR tomorrow I plan to ask if there will indeed be a sequel to Diary. Best Regards

    I would say...

    1.) Day
    2.) Dawn
    3.) Night '90/68'
    4.) Diary
    5.) Land

I hate though to group Diary in with the other films because it is not part of them and I know that it will be confused with them. I also feel bad to put it on the bottom of the list because it is not at all a bad film.

So, Diary was a worthwhile flick?
