and the far past. this is a pretty amazing geology site that won an award from scientific american a few years ago. the page i am gonna link shows among other things what the earth will look like in 50 million, 100 million, and 250 million years (if tectonic plate movement and rates of subduction stay relatively close to what they are today.

it also shows what the earth looked like way back into the very, very far past - agian based on the best data we have today.
