Well, it looked like a parking space!

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. hehe, aye I saw this on the Fail blog thingy (the one linked through icanhascheeseburger), took me by surprise too, dizaaaaamn.

Speaking of cars on ice, there was one I saw where someone was filming from their balcony down onto the street of these drivers - one after another - sliding and skidding around corners, down the hill etc - essentially a bunch of idiots with useless tyres and even worse driving skills in poor weather. Ninnies.

Ouch. Was that a frozen over pool or some sort of water fountain?

That person obviously didn't know about the water, but around here, we get "geniuses" who, during and after torrential rainfalls, will speed around city streets that are clogged with water and ultimately flood their engines and then complain about it. Unless it's an emergency, you shouldn't venture out until the water goes down - and if you live in the area you should be aware of certain streets that don't drain well, anyway. But common sense seems to be an uncommon commodity in some people...
