    Any after effects users?

Anyone here use Adobe After effects, either for fun, educationally, or professionally? I'm teaching myself it right now, and finally starting to make a bit of headway. Such fantastic fun when it works how you want it to, but very complicated - there's so much to it...anyone got any tips, useful info, or projects that they want to share?

On my old rig, it would run smooth as hell, so I used it a little bit. However, this computer is a little bit slow with Premiere, so I don't even bother with AE.

You're right, though, it can be a huge pain in the ass.

I use it from time to time.
I last used it on my entry for the Home Run Inn Halloween video contest.
AE was used in the opening shot, the lightning hitting the pole and the lightning flash in the final shot.

since you had to pick out a speciality at uni, and i turned out to be the very first to pick sfx (blieve it or not everyone else took lighting and sound rather than try both) and ive had to use it every week.
apparently someone from my college/uni is now using it to make special effects on the show heroes, i can do the "hiro time stop" effect myself, but thats really only 15 minutes work so its not saying much.
if you want to get real results real quick you cannot do better than videocopilot
