In italy it had some kind of resonance, because the lead character (Francesco Dellamorte) is intentionally similar to the greatest comic-book "horror hero" of italian comics: DYLAN DOG. It's not a rip-off, because Tiziano Sclavi, creator of DYLAN DOG and mindmaster/screen-player of most of his stories, is also the creator of Dellamorte: he wrote a book on him and his universe and kinda supervised the script of the 1994's movie. It must be remembered that the very first official presentation of Dellamorte was in the comic format: Sclavi realized a graphic novel in the late '80ies where Dylan and Francesco battled the undead together and that "summed-up" many issues lately presented in the 1991 novel and in the Soavi movie. I'm disappointed that nobody wrote about Dylan Dog in the Wikipedia article. The Dylan Dog character was modelled after Rupert Everett, everyone knows that in Italy. Ironically, they casted Rupert as Dellamorte, in order to somehow "depict" a visual version of Dylan Dog, even if "conceptually disguised" as Dellamorte. Maybe I'm wrong, but Dellamorte Dellamore was the only movie where the 'zombie outbreak' was confined to a place, and contained and kept secret by one person.

Although quite divergent from the storyline we all know and love, I still enjoyed this movie a lot. The story itself was very off kilter, especially in dealing with the psychosis of Rupert Everett's character. I particularly enjoyed the mood set by the film. The tone of the story overall was muttled at times by some cheesy incidents, but maintained a steady stream of obscure and just plain wierd plot details. This is one for the collectors but perhaps not so much for the Romero-ists.

[url]Maybe I'm wrong, but Dellamorte Dellamore was the only movie where the 'zombie outbreak' was confined to a place, and contained and kept secret by one person. BRAINDEAD (aka DEAD ALIVE) immediately springs to mind but it certainly isn't an overused concept unlike, say, the seige scenario.

Just curios here about "Zombie Holocaust" and im sure The Alive Man can help me out here. I was watching it earlier on today and realised it had obvously been dubbed as it is an Italian film, but by reading the lip movements on the actors/actresses it seems they are talking in English most of the time anyway. does anyone know if it is originally in Italian or English?? Also Brain Dead will be shown on TV Saturday evening on Film four for UK views but unsure of the time. I would post this in the 'Zombies on TV' thread but it will only edit my previous post and no-one will know

The awesomeness of Cemetary Man is not Rupert Everett in his pre-gay screen roles, it is Noggie. Truly, Noggie rules this film in every scene he is in and he deserves his own tee shirt in honor. Why does no one talk of Ed and His Dead Mother? Steve Buscemi as the opining son of his zombie mother and the great Ned Beatty (of Deliverance fame) as the uncle who thinks things just aren't right.

Gnaghi? Yes, he is awesome, and his girlfriend gives great "head". Dellamorte is one of the better, if not the best, horror film of the 1990s.

I was watching it earlier on today and realised it had obvously been dubbed as it is an Italian film, but by reading the lip movements on the actors/actresses it seems they are talking in English most of the time anyway. does anyone know if it is originally in Italian or English?? The english actors speak english on set, whereas the italian ones speak italian. And the spanish ones speak spanish. So there's no real "original" language... sort off. Same with The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, really.

I think they're all speaking English. I don't know about the porters though. Their dubbed voices always crack me up. Also when Mollatto frantically yells "Mr. Chandler! Mr. Chandler!" Come to think of it, there is a lot in this movie to laugh about. Obrero and Chandler actually are English speaking people, I think, and that is their actual voices (and Mollatto). The real stars of Cemetery Man for me are all the chicks. Then the cinematography and music. The dudes all make me sick, especially when they slobber. Some things are too horrible to watch, male nudity and slobbering (and real live animal slaughter). Also, I just found out Nicole Cardente in Bad Inclination is a dude! Yikes!

BOING !!!!! Holy F#ck Anna Falchi ........... Anyway, this immediately made my TOP FIVE list of fave films. Hilarious, Grim, and oozing with Class (And Mozzarella Cheese). Zombie films are one thing, but this one is really something else. If anyone here hasn't watched it at least once I suggest giving it a shot. Waaaaaay different than any other Zombie flick, but you might really dig it like I do. Danny T.

Man, I haven't seen that movie since around 1994 or so when I was a kid. I quite like Cemetery Man. It's another one I haven't watched for a few years that I need to take off my shelf and pop in my DVD player.
