Question about shops in the US (Short Hills - New Jersey)

I'm looking at getting a D-Link Boxee Box (media player). My other half is the US next week (Short Hills - New Jersey) so I'm wondering if she could pick me one up as the price is 2/3rds of what it is here!

Is anyone able to suggest a big easy to access retail store/chain/branch near where she'd be that would stock it?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. What the hell is your other half doing in Short Hills, NJ?

There is an upscale mall in Short Hills, but she'd probably pay more than if ordering through an online retailer like J&R: http://www.jr.com/dlink/pe/DLK_DSM380/

They offer free ground shipping, which should be only 1-2 day delivery to Short Hills, and she probably won't have to pay sales tax. What price are you trying to beat?

    $199'ish = (£126)

Here in the UK, it's basically £199! Almost 60% more expensive!

So if she goes to a store selling them for $199, will she actually pay $199, or will a sales tax increase that? (How much?)

I believe NJ's sales tax is 7%. So add $14 to a $200 listed price if she buys from a store in NJ.

$214=£135... So still about £65 ($103) cheaper than rip off Britain!!

If she buys at a retail store in New Jersey, there is 7% sales tax added. Sales tax is also applied if she buys from a NJ retailer's web site and ships the product to an NJ address.

Searching this item on Google products, it appears that some of the larger retailers such as Walmart, Target and Sears have it available only online. Walmart has a ship-to-store for pickup option, but then you'll pay tax. Best Buy doesn't seem to carry this item at all.

Again, her least expensive and most convenient option is to order from a noted electronics retailer such as J&R or B&H Photo, and have it shipped to where she'll be staying in NJ. Both of those retailers offer free shipping (delivery should take 1 business day) and because they're located in NY, she won't pay sales tax as long as the order is shipped to a NJ address.

I live here and that's how I shop for electronics (bought an HDTV from J&R). I haven't set foot in a Best Buy in about six years. Walmart is Suburban Battleground USA.

    OK! That sounds do'able!

Guess the only question left now is if £65/$100 worth the risk of if I need to return it! ie: If it goes wrong I'm sort of screwed
