This coming Monday is a holiday, Memorial Day. A lot of businesses, including the banks and a lot of the government offices, are closed for it.

    I'll be working, however. Joygasm.

I'm in retail. I manage a mattress store chain and handle local advertising.

I'll be working on Monday. I'll either be working on a jucy steak, working on a fat burger, or woking on the next beer. So much to do & so little time. One of the few perks of my job, no weekends & 6 holidays a year (Memorial, Labor, 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. (Sorry to rub it in, but it's been a long & difficult winter/spring. I'm ready for some summer!)

Yeah, I'd probably be complaining more if Memorial Day wasn't basically guaranteed massive amounts of commission.

Drink more when you get off work. You'll feel better about it.

    I approve of this message.

I work for a financial company (yes, EVIL financial companies - the anathema to liberals everywhere!) and I'm off on most bank holidays. It's sweet. This is the first company I've worked for I actually had off on Christmases and Easters and what not, so I definitely don't rub it in to anyone who does have to work on such days because I've been there before.

Back when I was an assistant manager in college at a movie theatre I always found it ironic when people would say: "Oh, it's terrible you have to be here on Christmas!" while they were handing me their movie ticket to go see a film. I just grinned: It would have been too terribly obvious to have said anything smart-ass to them if they didn't see the folly in even asking the question to begin with.

i wouldnt mind working SOME holidays but i miss alot, like day after thanksgiving sales, 4th of july stuff when the actual day is on a sunday and im the only one working on moday. its like they dont believe we have families. and they make the work mandatory which boggles my mind.
