This is tough. Too many to choose, really. Day, Aliens, Predator, Lethal Weapon, The Fly, The Thing, Beatlejuice, Creepshow, Blues Brothers, Caddyshack, Stripes, Gremlins, Die Hard, Batman, The Burbs. I could go on an on. And with Ghostbusters, my absolute favorite, being in the top ten....I really can't choose a number one favorite out of the rest. I guess Beetlejuice gets the most mileage... Not the original poster, but I thought it was so awesome I had to share it.

God!! I don't think I can really answer this. The 80's was the best era ever for movies, IMO. So I'll just toss out the one I watched the very most I guess. Oh crap, almost forgot this one. . . .it's a tie between these two.

Agreein' with the MikeP. Also... Day, obviously, but... Thrashin'. Since nobody else would post it. And it's decent, especially if you skip the little romantic/dramatic bits. The whole sponsorship thing was laughable. That dude clearly knew nothing about skateboarding. Ooh, Fast Times was okay, too. Spicoli, man.

I'd say half of the films I rate 5 stars (which are about 100 out of the 3,000 I've ranked on Netflix) come from the 80's. It's the single greatest decade for films PERIOD if you ask me. If I had to pick just one... I'd go with Red Dawn. Of course, I'm a Republican, so naturally I'd be inclined to love it! Christine would be in there as well as it's my favorite flick by Carpenter and just freakin' amazing... "DAY" of course is the undisputed greatest horror film of all time, so it goes without saying. Man, the 80's really were the golden age of films... j.p.

Most of my favorites have already been said, but I also like a few films that weren't exactly considered the cream of the crop. I actually enjoyed Swamp Thing, for instance. What I can't believe that no one has posted yet was Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. I still watch those to this day.
