Question VLC "snapshot" problem - help?

I'm having a problem with VLC - specifically the snapshot function (which used to work just fine for me) ... it's an odd thing, and I'm not sure what could be causing it.

Everytime I take a snapshot, it comes out with this jagged lining around certain edges - as seen in the example below - any ideas on how I can solve this issue? I need to get screenshots from recent films I've edited for the website on which they're sold - and as I've said, VLC hasn't given me this problem until now - no matter what computer I'm trying it on.

Beware the beast, man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him, drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.

    Ta for the link.

Seems to be a problem relating to MPEG-2 files, which PowerDVD can take snapshots from just fine. Strange indeed, never had this problem before.
