Next Left 4 Dead game to be a prequel?

From the folks behind payday: the heist, a 3rd person group based shooter where you try and rob a series of banks whilst fighting the police, are rumoured to be working on their valve team up as a prequel to the first game in the series. I imagine this will be a lot more up some folks alleys in some respects, people running in your way, rioting and looting, pretty much what operation raccoon city was supposed to be.

I'd hoped in L4D2 there to be more varied missions. eg: Help survivors get from A to B etc. Take over buildings where there's not only infected, but also other non-friendly survivors. Hell, why not allow 4vs4 (two teams of survivors at the same time) both try and take over a building! There's loads of potential!
