...and yet he didn't beat the time of the longest free fall?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. He's feeding off Joe Kittengers sloppy seconds, for all the modern HD-ness of that jump, I'd still rather watch footage of the original, it's got that 60's cold-war, space-race vibe that can't be beaten.
Oblivion gallops closer, favoring the spur, sparing the rein - I think we will be gone soon

Would anyone on here make the jump? Personally, I would. To me, it is a historic event, plus the endorcements, the rush, and all the tail I can get.

While historic, being forever etched in the pages of history, and the mountains of sponsers I'd likely get, I think tail wouldn't be an option for me -I'm not so sure I'd ever be able to find my nuts again after a jump like that.

However, that being said, let's give another massive shout out to the world's first (second pending on how you count this) orbital shock dropper. (So I'm a big Halo fan, sue me)
