Post Zombie Youth: Playground Politics (Severed Press)

Severed Press (www.severedpress.com) recently released Zombie Youth: Playground Politics. It is the first novel in the new Zombie Youth series. The series follows a group of survivors trapped within a school during a viral outbreak that kills older members of society and reanimates them as zombies or in some cases, worse. Left with no guidance or any of the normal societal constraints/influences, the survivors must recreate society on their own terms, while also confronting many of the trials and tribulations of normal adolescence. Eventually, the students come into conflict with another group of survivors that has a far darker interpretation of the outbreak and the survivors must face the harrowing realization that the zombies may just be the least of their concerns.

The Kindle and paperback (350 pages) versions are available now on Amazon, but you can check out cover art and sample pages at http://hegoodhue.wordpress.com.

A huge thanks to David Dunwoody for his cover quote!

"Cover-to-cover apocalyptic thrills and tension - unrelenting."
-David Dunwoody, author of EMPIRE and THE HARVEST CYCLE

That's definitely a comparison that a few people have drawn, as well as Red Dawn with zombies, but it still retains it's own feel...definitely not a Jane Austen-type redo of a classic book with zombies forced in. Hope you'll check it out.

"Kudos to the author for making me care about the characters. Also for making me sit on the edge of my seat and nervously biting my nails on more than one occasion. Excellent work! I look forward to possible sequels or any other books by this talented author!"

The Kindle price of Zombie Youth: Playground Politics has been lowered to 99 cents! That's almost 350 pages of undead action for less than a buck! If you have a dollar to burn and need a zombie fix pick it up. Thank you!

    Hey Everyone,

I just received a review from Monster Librarian and wanted to posted a section of it:

"Can readers tolerate one more book on the subject? Yes; we can if it's a good one. Zombie Youth: Playground Politics is the first in a new Young Adult series that successfully strains the curd from the milk-toast avalanche of zombie lit and makes a nice, stinky cheese from it...In a super-creepy way, he makes the end of days even more likely--almost logical...Goodhue's voice and style are flawlessly aimed at teen readers...Fortunately, much of the gross stuff is tempered by wry humor that lifts the whole book onto a higher level, nearly to adult cross-over."

    Thanks,

The second novel in the Zombie Youth series entitled Borrowed Time will be out soon, but the cover out has just been finished, which includes an quote from Michael Zapcic of AMC's Comic Book Men.

    try-2.jpg

"Zombie Youth takes the best of 'Coming of Age' youth comedies and pairs it with the NoTLD franchise...the result is a refreshing look at the Zombie genre. H.E. Goodhue writes with wit and panache."

Michael Zapcic of Comic Book Men

    Thanks Everyone!

    Hey there everyone,

I'm happy to report that Zombie Youth: Borrowed Time has been released on Kindle and soon to follow in paperback. This beast is running a little more than my typical hooker fees of 99c. but you get your money's worth with over 450+ pages of undead action.

So want to know what will happen to the children when the dead rise? Damn it stop wondering and read Zombie Youth.
