Zombicide - Why is this worth over $800?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zombicide-...item1e85b4402f

Why would someone spend $800 on this?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I don't get it either!

Even looking through the original kickstarter that brought the project to fruition with lower prices doesn't seem reasonable.

    Claudia the Rebel
    MARVIN The Bodyguard
    Eva the Artist
    Ivy the Hit Girl
and a big special Zombie in a plastic Case

Kickstarter exclusives. A big part of the KS for Season one & two are KS exclusive miniatures/characters that you can only get for pledging & will never be available to the general public. They have been drawing big $ from resellers.

It's a sales model that I f*cking loathe & refuse to support. TBH it took a lot of my enthusiasm for Zombicide away. I bought the bases set & the expansions retail, but feck all if all the KS brew-ha-ha doesn't irritate me.

I'll stick to Last Night on Earth thank you.

    ...and move!

Well for over $1000 (which is where the bidding is now) surely they must!

I don't always trust the validity of crazy dollar amount bids I sometimes see on eBay.

I'd say you can trust this one. A complete set of all the KS exclusives for have been fetching well north of $500-$800.

Don't underestimate the allure of exclusives on gamers with disposable income. Steve Jackson's "Ogre" Designers Edition regularly starts at $250+. Games Workshops limited reprint of "Space Hulk" starts at about $300 & has fetched over $1000 before.

Rare, collectible, & out-of-print= big $ in gaming.
