Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. It's good to see there are still people on this planet with vision and the drive to achieve something great.

I also dig it that he's got a sense of humour with the Starman having a relaxing drive around space - "Don't Panic!" etc.

They'll probably cry foul and say "CGI" or some deluded bollocks. I wonder if those folks are just trolls, or if some of them genuinely believe it. I don't know which one is worse.

They say it's a "hoax" and that private companies have a reason to fake it. Gallingly, they also say this:
‘Exercise critical thinking. Seeing something on the Internet does not automatically render it true.’
Irony doesn't seem to be in their lexicon.
