In the city??? It worked for a small rural town in AvED, but in the city? I mean, sure, if they've got a killer idea/take on it and how that could play out, but ... hmmm ... I'm staying cold on that until I learn more and see some footage. The remake was actually pretty decent over all, despite the gear-crunching dialogue (of the "you know I'm your brother" variety) and the 'too-Exorcisty' approach to the demons (i.e. no all-white eyes like in the originals, which were far spookier than the manky-but-pretty-human looking eyes in the remake). The bloodletting in the remake was astonishing and the general filmmaking craft was very good ... although it did feel a bit too slick at times. I've always felt that Evil Dead movies need to feel slightly scruffy, a little bit glued-together with duct tape, you know? Professionally done, but kinda rough around the edges.
