    Nosferatu (film)

All looks a little bit too well trodden?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. no. The world needs this about as much as it needs another version of Bram Stoker's
    Dracula.

Yep, original & Herzog's remake with Klaus Kinski. There is no need to have another go at it. Just like there wasn't any need at all to make another remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, as the 1978 remake with Donald Sutherland was great. The remake with Nicole Kidman was a travesty.

Not that I've seen it in a long time, but I do remember enjoying Abel Ferrera's 1990s remake.

And yes - Herzog's version was wonderful! Superb score, too.
