God the 1976 King Kong looks terribly dated now...

...the effects, sets and backdrops etc have dated it alot...
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. It's one of those films that's highly watchable but at the same time, an unadulterated pile of dog's s**t. Jessica Lange was a hottie!

If you think that's bad, just wait until you watch King Kong Lives (1986).

Oh geez you were watching that too?! I get flicking back to it to see how bad it had now gotten since I lasted looked at it a few minutes prior, geez, when Kong walks fully upright like a human and hides behind a building from that chopper ... oh dear, they just didn't even bother trying to make Kong act like a gorilla did they? *winces* Oooh, such a bad film...

LOL...all the movies from the 70s look horribly dated. Nevermind the set, the FX, the acting...it's all about the wardrobe, baby!!!!

Everytime I see bellbottoms, I wince, and I just can't take the movie seriously at all. It's a phobia that's killed alot of good horror flicks for me...
