    Finally had another zombie dream...

So I was watching a little bit of the opening of "All Souls Day" (taped off Zone Horror) and ended up having a zombie dream last night. In the dream I was 'living in actual reality' (so-to-speak) the events of what my dream-state was perceiving Diary of the Dead to be, even though "Diary" was still called "Land", ha!

Of course, it had fudge all to do with the actual goings on in GAR's flick, it was at my house and we were all sneaking around inside, trying to close the curtains and blinds without zombies spotting us as they milled around outside. It doesn't sound like a very exciting dream, but it was quite vivid and tense when I was "in" it in my dreamstate.

Haven't had a zombie dream in quite some time, usually my dreams involve utter randomness spliced with sex.

Funny you should say that but I had another one of my re-occurring 'alternate' Dawn film-dreams, okay I'll elaborate. Every now and then I will dream about an 'alternate' version of Dawn Of The Dead but instead of me being in them, they are more like my mind playing a movie as a dream. They even have credits! I've had many of these over the years but his version was fantastic. It had a whole new sequence involving the four heroes landing at a store for supplies and they end up staying there for a couple of days (this scene seemed to go on forever) before heading to the mall. The dream then took the usual route that the film takes but instead of breaking into the civil defense storage area, there was a door on the roof that lead to 'that' corridor which was now infested with zombies. I'm afraid that I don't remember the dialogue or scenes too good but I'll go on to say that this dream version seems like it was made a few years earlier than Dawn actually was. After that, it's all a blank. I'll let you know how it pans out in a few months time!

    Dreaming dead walk ...

Its strange , this whole idea that GAR has made , must tap into a very deep fear because I have had a few dreams myself ... A few months ago I drempt that I was in an office building as part of a team that was inserted from the roof , an old friend from high school was there too ... we (I think there were 4 other people in the squad) descended down a stairway from the roof , I could hear the sounds of stenches down the stairs , gurgling and moaning .A
woman started screaming and we ran down the stairs . It seemed that she wasnt alive , it was a trick to get us down there , she had half her face ripped off and was covered in brown dried blood ... freaks me out to think that some kinda trick was played on us to get us down there .We were shooting , I had somekinda italian smg with a maglite on it ...I woke up as I heard my co-ops screams of fate , we got trapped in an office . I awoke because I knew I was dreaming but couldnt awake at first , forced myself into an awake state . My weapon was pointed at a little boy that was so hideous , shredded muscle was hanging off his arms and I could hear him shreiking in hunger for flesh .The maglite lit the room with a bluish tint ... I woke before I know what happened . Creepy ...

While it's worrying at the time, it's kinda cool to get so wrapped up in a dream that you have to will yourself out of it and wake yourself up. I can't remember what it was about, but I had a dream once where I got so caught up in it and so frightened and panicked that I burst upright in bed gasping for air and my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it looks in cartoons when a character falls in love with a foxy fox or whatever.

actually ive only ever had one zombie dream and one part was myself and my brother in the house hiding from 28 days later style zombies, or just nutters ,we were in the dark behind curtains and you could see movement, and i rarely dream were i am "me" normally im like watching a movie seeing myself form the 3rd person perspective and even though neither myself nor my brother spoke i knew if we moved or made a noise the house would fill with zombies and we would be killed.

anyway i have a freind whos taking a degree n psychology and when i got talking to him, cus we, that is all his freinds, ask him what he makes of our dreams all the time, cus usally we get a wierd answer, and we just know it buggs him, anyway after i told him this he explained it was something we all have, *WARNING IF YOU BELIEVE IN INTELLIGENT DESIGN DONT BITCH THAT IM BLASHPEMEING *, well you know how sometimes we lay in bed and feel like were falling and we jump and sorta stiffen (now now not like that) ,sure you know, everyone does it, thats becuase its theorised its part of our primate make up left over from when we were lemurs or whatever and it was so we didnt fall out of trees while we slept and this kinda dream is apparently another thing like that, the primate instincts telling us we need to hide from a more powerful predator, a perfectly natural fear for the animal side of humans, the zombie bit was just since im a big fan of zombie books, films and comics ect, that my subconsious formed a situation were i knew myself that i wouldnt be easily able to sruvive AKA with hundreds of rage type zombies all looking for somethign to beat to death.

yes we are a mental species but thats why zombie nuts dream like that the same way it would apparently be a jungle or a never ending fall for someone whos been in the army.

I had a living dead end of the world dream and Capnknut and Deadman Deluxe was in it. I think you were also in in Minion. what is strange it took place as a video game. We all looked like cartoons. LOL. i think em and capn talk too much on video games and it got into my dreams. but do you not love zombie dreams? Too me they make the best nightmares. I always wake up excited.

Almost nightly I have a dream involving some sort of horror. The other day i dreamed that i was kidnapped by a sereal killer and dragged to an abandoned motel room and then chained up. From then on i changed character and watrched the dream as if i was on the outside looking in, like watching a movie.

HLS , its a rare quality to enjoy nightmares ... but if your are enjoying them are they still nightmares if your not scared ? When I am horrorfied in a dream , I dont enjoy it while its happening , when I wake , I still dont like the residual memory . Sometimes , I am crashing out and wonder , "What will my sub-conscience 'feature' for the nights entertainment ...?"

I guess they are not nightmares if you enjoy them. My Godzilla dreams tend to scare the crap out of me but that is what makes it fun. I must watch way too many sci-fi/horror for my dreams are insaine. I have had alien invasion dreams and zombies combined in the same dreams. lol

The zombie dreams that scared me the most is when I took human anatomy diasection in college and I cut up 6 bodies from head to toe. It messed me up for a year. I would have zombie dreams that envolved me being trapped in a house with no escape.
