Recently found some good remakes of classic DOS strategy games 1. Freecol - Open source remake of Sid Meyer's Colonization game. Requires Java virtual machine to run. Ongoing development including bug fixes and enhancements. Version 0.5.3 is stable enough, a 0.6 version is expected in the next two months. http://freecol.org/ 2. Freeciv - Open source remake of Sid Meyer's Civilization game. Latest version is 2.09. Offers multilanguage support. Also has an active development team. http://freeciv.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page 3. Race into Space - Open source remake of Buzz Aldrin's Race into Space. Classic game recreating the race to the moon. Windows version, sound works.
