I've been all about Saints Row for the last week, but I will return to Dead Rising for some zombie slicing fun...can't be arsed with much else, it's just nice to go on for 30/60 minutes and cause some GORE!

Having just got a 360 over the weekend, I totally missed out on this thread while it was in its heyday. However, after playing the game a bit, then checking out all the tips you guys have so graciously provided, I am very grateful.

Much thanks to all who contributed to this thread. It will no doubt be very useful for me.

NOTICE- no mention of "in the game" in that phrase.

Ahhhh the fresh-faced joy of a Dead Rising new-guy ... I was once there, not anymore, but while it lasted it was good.

And DR is still a great game.

Not if you're Frank West missing a helicopter to fly him to safety you're not.

Got a 360 along with Dead Rising, I would describe this game as the 360's Rogue Leader, a game that showcases the potential of the console. The only irks are that some things bring the realism down such as the magic mirror, respawning zombies, jeep psychos and the poor AI of the survivors.

this was also the first game i got, and i still think it's fun to play from time to time.

gotta agree with ya, the ai characters are about a pain in the a$$.

i have 46/50 achievements on this game. still need transmissioner, pp collector, and 5&7-day survivor.

Just ask Andy about 7 Day Survivor.

He was less than an hour away from completing it until the chainsaw dude made an appearance and killed him. Not fun for him (imagine the frustration ) but utterly hilarious for me on the other end of MSN. I wish I'd saved the log.

Dead Rising was also a deciding factor for me picking the 360 up. I have to say I was not disappointed, even though Dead Rising could have been beter, it pretty delivered what I was expecting and it has acted as a considerable time sink. Good stuff! Hell, I still need to finish the damn game
