Damn I love Team America, have you seen the unrated version of the sex scene? Man that's messed up...but hilarious.

again, that was shown to us in film class, and yesterday we watched borkeback mountain, so we see more than the usual action movies crap youd expect.

-and it IS more a romance film with two guys than a "gay cowboy" movie, it was allright but ill be damned if it didnt drag on much longer than it should.

    *ug* JADED!

I finally got around to seeing Brokeback Mountain a few weeks back and I thought it was superb, spot on.

Don't you guys watch films from other countries and eras in time on the course? Or is it all stuff that'd be "popular/popular enough wiv-tha-kidz"?

Geez, that's a 95% popular film list right there, the sort of stuff most folk have heard of, or would likely enjoy, with the odd deeper one thrown in here and there.

It wasn't like that on my course, we saw the odd well-known movie, but it depended on which particular course you took. I did a Lucas/Spielberg course, so it was those sort of films, which everybody knows, but the sort of stuff we had to talk about was bollocks, the lecturer was a nobhead obsessed with reading porn and incest into anything when it's NOT THERE AT ALL.

We took the piss and said that "Duel" was a rape-revenge movie because the big, dirty truck anally rapes the little car on the road ... he f*cking fell for it and loved it, we couldn't believe it, we were just talking utter bollocks.

Other courses vary from one type of film to another.

Not many pre-1960 films on that list, b'ave ... how do you manage to rake through so many flicks, when do you ever have time to discuss them? haha...

Well I'll say this, film studies in the Sixth Form/College is a lot different to film studies at Uni.

I remember the film & video course at my high school, I didn't take it and I'm glad I didn't, everybody got sh*t grades and just ran around with a video camera in that "haha, how cool is this, I'm having fun at school, touch my erection, feel how chuffed I am" kinda way...but it was all that "dude in a white box" type melodrama and faux-poncy-arse stuff...rather pointless, really. It wasn't properly taught though, nor did it have a proper syllabus...

    *flashback*

hehe, just had a fond memory of my time at uni...I remember the Wednesday morning 10am 1 hour lectures weren't very popular, and Charles Barr (who used to be one of the ones at the top/running the over all course - he's now retired - people might recognise his name from various books on Hitchcock, he's mad for the Alfred) ... anyway, he said he was gonna start a register thingy and the rule of thumb was you could miss 3 lectures/seminars on each course no questions asked, beyond that was really pushing it at 4, beyond that was a naughty-no-no ... I'd always save my 3 for weeks that were gonna be reeeeaaaaaally boring or I had no interest in, or when it was the end and I was really lazy and had done all the necessary work...anyway, sh*t I still haven't gotten to the point - anyway, I'd already had my 3 NQA misses, and I woke up at like 9:40am with that wide-eyed, cold sweat panic - SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! I'd slept in! I spent that 20 minutes desperately trying to get ready and dressed and get my bag packed and then get to uni, which was a good mile away or more...I got there a few minutes late, came blasting in sweating with my hair all in a state, and sat down just as the register was being handed over to where I was, hahaha!

And it was really weird cos there was a dude there with a camera filming it for TV or something...never found out the story on that, but there must have been some red-faced, panting student somewhere in the background wiping sweat from his face, haha!

Oh, and the Jackson film you're on about is "Meet the Feebles".

Yet another argument in favour of the Neutering Ninjas!

There's so many people who just doss about and do nothing, what is their purpose? Nothing, that's what, they just consume and that's it without contributing anything worthwhile to anyone...there should be a birth limit at least on people, no more than 4 kids at least, I saw on TV the other day some slag who's still quite young and has THIRTEEN KIDS ... christ! USE A F*CKING JOHNNY ALREADY!!!
