Capn Dallow

I've kept myself removed from this entire situation, but I just wanted to pop in and say that I've been told that the wiped posts apply to "CapnDallow" ... so the "CapnCnut" posts still remain.

When his name was changed, the post count on "Dallow" was augmented, so the wipe affected the posts after the name change.

Rather than get myself involved in this issue (my personal opinions on the whole thing will remain my own and I'll stay out of it), I just wanted to pop in briefly to impart that one piece of information.

well thats confused me even more, why some but not the others.....
the more this situation continues the less sense it makes....

It's because they're technically two different accounts.

The Dallow account had the post count augmented from 0 to 12000 or whatever it was (to represent the Cnut account), as a starting point, and so it was the posts after this point that got wiped.

I don't understand why it worked out this way, I was confused by it all too, so I asked and I'm just passing on the info I got.

It still doesn't negate his posts were deleted and still no answers why?
Why ok for some to be left and the rest be gone? I am just saying.

I didn't come in to the thread to get into the issue, I was just popping in to put forward a piece of information connected to it.

Not to excuse it, not to explain it, but just to say that some posts remain because of the two name/two account thing - the mechanical explanation connected to the forum's setup and coding etc ... this is not, and was never intended to be, a theoretical or ethical explanation or excusing at all.

As I've said - my personal opinions regarding this whole thing will remain my own and I'm keeping myself out of it, especially as I was never involved in it in the first place.

I apologize if it seems like I am dragging you into it MZ..not in my intentions at all. I was just saying that the other ones (Capn Dallow's) were deleted. I really am sorry if I made sound like you are dragged into it!

Has anyone ever seen this many posts to bring back a banned board member? Obviously he is well liked and we all know this board will never be the same without him. I still say BRING BRETT AND HIS POSTS BACK!

not just well liked zg..he was an asset when he was a mod!
