Yeah! And it would have been a messed up kinda thing to boast about as well - providing a service to protect them from a threat they created! But then, if Gregory discovered enough of a ballbag to say that, Simon would retort with it being a punishment - but a 'safe' one. The lack of guards would still need to be explained, mind.

Little details like this - they need to hire us HPOTD'ers to go over their scripts with a fine tooth comb to iron any wrinkles like this, haha!

Well, you do know that the storylines are adapted from a book that's been written for years, right? Besides, Darabont was great but he also have you zombies using weapons and one that even climbed a fence and sprinted. If that would have happened today some here would have a heart attack haha. Also, Negan is pretty different than the Governor and just wait on what's to come.

Yeah, The Governor and Negan are only similar insofar as them being "the toughest villain Rick's faced to date" ... beyond that their methods are different, their leadership styles are different, their stories are different ... their only similarity is their relative threat level (and relative to Rick & Co's journey through the apocalypse - their level of experience, their time in the trenches etc). There's some interesting stuff to come as a result of Negan that'll be intriguing to see how they handle it (and tweak it) in the show.

The Governror painted himself as a hero to his people outside of a few henchmen needed to do his dirty work. He was a notorious liar and scumbag. Negan wears his colors on his sleeves and has a code about certain things. He also isn't like the lying assholes that Rick has dealt with in the past. Both horrible people but very different.

Yeah, I don't buy it. Every ruthless leader of organized resistance to the protagonists is not equivalent to a rinse and repeat of one another. The Governor was a slowburn psychopath who was pretty adept at both politicking and hiding his worst qualities and more ruthless machinations till he lost it and went full psyco, while Negan is more akin to a warlord and robber-baron with a desire to set up a regional protection racket, while ruling by fear and, with the slightest hint of resistance, outright violence and punitive terror.

This is an ongoing series, so other people being the biggest danger doesn't just go away after one cautionary episode or story arc.
