Microsofts E3 conference was the single worst thing I have ever witnessed. They spent most of the time talking about Kinect, and the load of re purposed Wii games you get to pay full price for. It was incredibly embarrassing and silly watching those people play kinect games...the entire thing was a travesty. Oh, but hey, they talked about Halo reach and GOW 3..okay, those were cool, but then they spent time showing me everything that an x-box could do other then play games. Why would I want to get involved in a video chat and watch movies with a facebook friend? Horseshit. I use my 360 for 2 things, and those are watching dvds, and playing video games, and microsoft didn't seem to concerned with the game part of the console. Seriously, cirque du soleil? In my E3? What the fuck is wrong with them? Anyone watch the gameplay of the kinect star wars game? How incredibly laggy, slow, and dull it seemed? EAs conference was pretty good however, and I really enjoyed the look at Dead Space 2, MOH, and battlefield vietnam. Oh, and new trailer for the space marine game for the 360, and finally a trailer for the 40k mmo. Best things about E3 thus far (to me anyways). I think that now is the best time for me to start looking into getting a PS3, as the game library seems to be far better this year than the 360s.

Anyone watch the gameplay of the kinect star wars game? How incredibly laggy, slow, and dull it seemed? The previous day they shown that footage being done only there was a split second delay - on the players part. I reckon Kinect and Move footage in the respective shows were actually pre recorded footage. Look around the internet on sites like IGN and Beyond 3D there's a few people who seem to know of this technical stuff and insist these cameras are crap for motion gaming.

Have you seen the 3DS Resident Evil Revelation and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater? They are obviously from cutscenes but look great.

A thought occurs to me. With steamworks on the ps3 valve has said they are giving all ps3 owners the same dlc as pc steam game owners for free. -Well isnt XBLA under the policy to not charge for what is free on other systems? I'm sure they will try and tweak there "first hits free, but the rest'l cost ya" schtik but it looks like i might be able to load up team fortress 2 on my 360 and find more than 6 players on there again. See, i agree its totally just a wii imitation for the ps3, but thats a genius move on sonys part. Dont think from our perspective, long time videogames enthusiasts, but as the entirely new market gotten into games by the wii. Now they see this other waggle controlled system thats also a blu-ray player? to you or me thats kinda meh compared to what games are on it but god damn i will bet good money there gonna get a slice of that wii market. -Probably not as much if this came out a year ago, because i am pretty confident that the 3ds is gonna outsell everything.

Yeah, it appears this way with the shit they put on stage, but the technology goes far beyond what the eye toy was capable of. 3D space tracking and facial/voice recognition ring any bells? +Multiple cameras built in...48point skeletal frame per person..up to four players tracked, infrared, motorized tilt follow.. to name a few of other functions no eye toy could do. If anyone else her ever had the eye toy or microsofts cam know non of this is really possible on those cheapshit add ons.
