Is zombie fiction dead?

Give me a week, I will have the first few standard pages down. The only request that I have is that writers have submitted at least one complete story to the fiction section before.

The only request that I have is that writers have submitted at least one complete story to the fiction section before. Wouldn't that undermine the whole community fiction idea? Wasn't AngryNeighbour's original idea to have something relaxed and informal without the restrictions of the main fiction thread? I mean I don't know many people that post in the 'regular' threads have actually submitted a complete story to the fiction section, but surely, by only allowing folk that have submitted a complete story aren't we potentially going to have a community story thread that can only be written by a small number of eligible people, thus not really a community piece? Just a thought.

I'd love to see a zombie story set in a country where most people do not have ready access to firearms or training in how to use them. I'd love to see how that goes down with the fanboy community.

Just a thought. Not knocking the idea. Most of us submit stories here to practice writing. I would like to at least have the people that submit parts of the story, to have at least written one. Call it a bar if you would. It's not even that high of a bar. A day's work for a short story and you qualify. How can a writer be expected to work with a group if he does not even work with him or herself? I have seen community stories done before on other forums. Without some type of control, they tend to quickly oscillate into chaos and unworkability until it becomes a running gag.

Well that means I better write a story and submit it if that is it. I think it would just be easier and more relaxed if the writer that week had to submit his piece to three different people (experienced posters/writers or just anyone for that matter) two weeks ahead of his deadline. That way, his piece could be approved and if not, re-edited and reworked for approval before the deadline. I have a half an hour seminar to prepare for wednesday, but I'll try and help with the workings of this idea, if it is going to happen at all that is.
