Congrats to Lou & a big to Deej. Good on ya guy. You're a good friend.

I'm still trying to process the most surprising part of the story:

    Lou has kids?!?

Tell me about it! I got my license at 16 (the day I turned 16). When I got home, my dad gave me his keys and said "well, take the car out for a ride" - lemme tell ya, it felt all kinds of wrong being out on the road by myself for the first time.

Man, I can't agree more. It seems like just a blink of an eye ago, I was carrying him around and he was still an infant. It's kinda scary how quickly time moves - and kinds are a constant reminder of that speedy passage of time!

I told Lou's offspring I would get him a car years ago. Came across this, after looking at many cars.

Lou's kid, is a great kid, and I always try to do something nice for him at Xmas, when his mom posted on FB he just got his Learner's permit... (this was last Saturday 12/15/12) The search began immediately, although I had nine months to find something... this came up and I grabbed it ASAP.

Since you're grantin' Christmas wishes Deej, I just bought a box of Trojans. Can you find me something to go with it please?

He would have gotten a Mustang, I would prefer him in a Mustang, but out of all the cars I looked at, and it was a lot in the 2 days between learning he got his permit, and the time I settled on the car. Not to rag on Mustangs but not a single one I looked at, other than the 2013 I considered buying him... were in the condition this 95 Camaro was... this thing is excellent. I can't say perfect as it has some minor stuff (pinstripe is peeling, sun fade on the back seat support) but the minor stuff is less than $500 to fix and this kid has a solid car, which wasn't beaten to death, and was very well cared for... it will be a good car for him, and I was more than happy to do it.

You can't be that HARD UP... if you are buy a pocket pussy. Don't get me wrong I have gay friends, but never in my darkest hour, or severe need for sexual companionship would I resort to sticking my dick in another dude. If it can't be warm human flesh Va J J, then I have Jergens and tissue, and a massive collection of porn, courtesy of the internet I can use to make sure my needs are met.

    'twas a camaro, bro.

and hell yeah, dj, you made that kid's holdiay truly magical. i tip my cap to you, sir. a real class act.

the nicest thing dj ever did for me was introduce me and my buddies to the wonders of five guys burgers and fries when we met him at con-tamiation in st. louis. guess i need to do more get on his nice list.

edit: and don't fret over not getting him the 2013 'stang. a 16 year-old kid, regardless of who they are, doesn't need a brand new sports car. and with the money you saved opting for a used camaro, you can play super-santa again and pick me up some black-gloss c6 replica rims for my trans am.

Thanks, and thanks to everyone whom have said the same.

Sorry professor, as much as I would like to put everyone on my "special xmas list" I can't. I have known Lou's kid as long as I have known Lou. I did say i would buy him a car one day, so I just filled my promise.

I wouldn't buy just any friends son, or if I had children of my own, a car without knowing they would be responsible with it. Lou's boy, has shown he could be trusted to take care of this vehicle. Hence why I did the deed. I have family that could use a reliable car like this, who don't have the disposable income to just buy a car, but they are not responsible enough to own a car in this kind of shape, and if I would have bought it for them it would be trashed in a year or less.

There is so much extra I could put in here to make this decision 100% solid, but just trust me when i say in the 8 years I have known lou and his family, no kid is more deserving of this than him.

Well that is very kind of you, Dj. Believe me, he really, really appreciates it - more than he can express. I know most of his friends don't believe him at first, but he doesn't argue, he just tells them "yeah, keep talking crap. In 9 months (maybe even sooner), you'll be eating those words"

You know, sometimes you just want to check in on a thread and see how the discussion is progressing and then after you do... you can't unseen or wipe from memory that which your mind has aborbed.
